Windows on the Past

Every building on the High Street has lived more than one life.

64 HIGH STREET, BRIDLINGTON

Properties on the High Street were renumbered at the start of the 1900s. This property was previously Number 19.

No 64 was previously occupied by George Moody, Grocer, Wine and Spirit Merchant.

No 64 is shown in this photograph, dating early 20th Century, when it was the home of the Gatenby family. This property later became the office of The Lords Feoffees and Assistants of the Manor of Bridlington, a charitable trust established in 1636. Next door is Gatenby's Chemist shop.
