Windows on the Past

Every building on the High Street has lived more than one life.

56 HIGH STREET, BRIDLINGTON

Properties on the High Street were renumbered at the start of the 1900s. This property was previously Number 23.

In 1899, No 56 was occupied by Alfred Clarke's Ironmongers.

The modern photograph shows the premises when it was used as the 'Bridlington Selling Service' shop. Marshall's Boot and Shoe Stores can be seen next door.
