In 1911, Jane Davison, age 76, a widow, born in Hutton Cranswick lived here in 6 rooms, with her grandson Fred Carr, a cowman on a farm, Ethel, his wife of less than a year, and their newborn son Wilfred. They had a visitor staying, Mary Bonnett, a widow age 65. Jane's late husband John Nicholson Davison had been a local councillor, and had worked as a farm labourer, lime burner, and later as a farmer.
