Windows on the Past

Every building on the High Street has lived more than one life.

19 HIGH STREET, BRIDLINGTON

Properties on the High Street were renumbered at the start of the 1900s. This property was previously Number 65.

In 1899, this property was occupied by Edmund Mainprize, Grocer.

This photograph shows the property as a butcher's shop, situated next to the young boy on the left. The street is decorated for the Lord Mayor of London's visit in 1906.
