Windows on the Past

Every building on the High Street has lived more than one life.

12 HIGH STREET, BRIDLINGTON

This photo shows the start of High Street, before the numbers 1-10 were demolished in the early 20th Century.

It was common for butcher's shops to have open window displays and meat hanging from hooks. This photograph shows George Lawty's butcher's shop, no. 4 when demolished, originally no. 53.
